DescriptionAfterlife Encounters is the culmination of the Afterlife Encounters Survey, Arcangel’s five-year, international survival study. Arcangel presents all-new, first-hand accounts from individuals who’ve experienced visitations from the dead. Afterlife Encounters reveals the results of that study and, for the first-time, offers a systematic categorization of such encounters, explaining when these encounters are most likely to occur, and what type of apparition is likely to appear. Arcangel’s eye-opening conclusion is that Afterlife Encounters provide lasting comfort to those who are mourning the loss of a loved one. ReviewsI Love This Book everything answered Waxes and Wanes It took work forcing myself to finish reading this book and afterward I felt I had wasted a lot of time. Afterlife Encounters My Review - a little skepticism is called for If you're looking for a semi-interesting read, and you're not expecting some excellent style, a la Gore Vidal, or Salman Rushdie, then this book is for you. Further, some of the stories could be true. I was mildly amused by the stories, kept my mind open until I reached the part about her "research" into mediums. It was more the mediums I lost patience with, rathern than Ms. Archangel, but I was annoyed with her for including this section because it undermined what little credibility she had built up as a researcher. The mediums interactions were full of those old tricks of mediumship such as "I sense someone whose name begins with J or M." Almost everyone's name begins with J or M. Those are the two most popular initials of American names. The mediums she engaged with were full of these common hocus-pocus tricks of the trade. I was not at all convinced the mediums were anything more than charlatans. They should have been left out. The book was too long anyway. There are better books out there on the topic, but if you just want some stories of possible existence beyond death, some of the stories may provide you with what you're looking for. |
